Planning vacation, Slovakia, perhaps, is being associated with mountains... No doubt that for those, who love extreme and active leisure, Slovakia is a perfect country for holidays. Thus, everything properly and accurately about the wintry vacation in magnificent Tatras Mountains. 

Rent

Travelling by car - fast and comfortable. Place, where we stayed - Liptovsky Mikulaš. We did not have to care about the reservation, because similar towns propagate tourism services almost all seasons of a year. Observing signboards on the houses with the word "Rent" You can choose an individual house or several rooms and rent it (them) at the moment. Actually, renting even and the hole house (it depends what type of furniture there is, it is old or modern construction), prices do not bite (10-15 € for a person for 1 day).It is possible and comfortable to rent an apartment in the mountains, but the price will be, of course, appropriate.

Food

Prices of food in shops, cafes, pubs, mountain cafes are the same and not so high. However, we will disappoint those, who propagate healthy food - if you have resolved to spend a whole day in the mountains on skis, snowboard then do not expect qualitative, natural and healthy food in mountain cafes. You should be satisfied with fries, fat chicken and hotdogs. The only salvation - soups.

Entertainment

Without downhill skiing in the mountains, which will be shown in the pictures, You can perfectly relax after an extreme day in water parks and geysers, which are near the town.  In the open pools You could indulge in massage of water stream and hot mountain water, which, as all, who are interested in mountain sport know, is a real help for strained muscles. We warn - for such procedures You should have a simplier clothing, because the brown water will color it.  A little bit clearer, but filtrated and not so healthy water is in entertaining parks. Price - 10-15 € for few hours.

Mountain entertainment

The most important, amazing and memorable moments spread man's minds while skiing through Tatras Mountain's route JASNA in winter centre, whose common length of downhill skiing routes - 57 km. The most expensive is a device (mountains lift), which hangs to mountains (for 4days - 112 €), rent of mountain skis about 30 - 40 €.

After renting a skiing inventory, getting the card of mountains lift, You have to wait in the row near the lift and after that - hang to the wanted route in order to joy of mountain beauty and skiing. We advice to practice the art of slide and stopping on the small mountains for those, who go to such route as JASNA for the first time, in order there will not be stress and injuries.

There are separate routes for skilled and professionals. Mountain, marked as black in the map, is recommended for experienced lovers of mountain sport. Actually, routes do not cost, knowledge of skiing is not controlled, but before raising the head it is recommended to get skills of skiing in the simple routes. Such is The Blue route - quite fun and long, lasting about 5 km. The slope is not vertical, but somewhere - sudden turns. Routes and mountains, marked as red, are a little bit difficult, but they are not too difficult for beginners. If You have learned the most important thing for a beginner - stopping, and You want adrenalin, the Red route is for You. The slope is bluffer, more springboards, sometimes there are met even descents, which are similar to real scarps. If You think to slide slowly - You will descend successfully. Bruises are ensured, but impress and adrenalin dose atone everything.

Things, needed in the trip

Clothing: skiing overall/ anorak and trousers; under the trousers warm sox; few pairs of sox, which are for skiing, several pairs of simple warm sox, few warm pullovers, cap, gloves specially for skiing; simple warm gloves, mountain glasses, warm shawl.

Other things: hygiene means; passport/ identification; recommended travelling insurance; medicine: gel after bruise, anti-nausea, headache, cold.  

However the most important thing which we recommend to take is optimism, positive emotions and we wish You to catch a "mountain disease"!
