The Hotel Moscow was built in 1906 on Terazije plateau at zero point of the centre of the city.
It is located at the beginning of pedestrian zone, in the vicinity of Republic square, numerous theatres, museums, cinemas, and city and state institutions. The moment you step out onto the balcony of your room you will have an impression that you entered the heart of Belgrade!
Since the 20th century it has been under the state protection as a cultural monument.

The Hotel Moscow is categorized as a FOUR star hotel.
It has 124 comfortable rooms and 6 luxury apartments.
On the first and second floor there are 36 duplex rooms which are really special. All rooms are equipped with stylish furniture, mini bar, cable TV, free wireless Internet. On the ground floor there is a café - sweetshop Moscow and restaurant Tchaikovsky, symbols of good coffee, tasty food and famous cakes. There is also a bistro Moscow, night club Moscow, banquet rooms, gift shops, garage and parking.

The History

The building of the Hotel Moscow was the biggest one in private possession in the Kingdom of Serbia. Back then the building was named Rosija Palace. A hundred meters further, on Terazije, there was a King's castle.

• The King himself opened the Palace

On 16th of January 1908 Rosija Palace - nowadays Hotel Moscow was opened by the King Petar I Karadjordjevic, with the orchestra.
In Rosija Palace there was a hotel, café, restaurant, flats to rent and offices of Belgrade branch of Insurance company Rosija.

• Under the state protection

The Hotel Moscow was built in the style of Russian secession, with skillfully combined elements of Greek antiquity. In the 20th century the Hotel Moscow became the most famous catering facility in Belgrade. In mid 20th century it was declared a monument of culture under the state protection.

• In line with modern trends

The Hotel Moscow outlived numerous generations of trends and fashions. Without stopping to cultivate tradition and the beauty of ancient times - nowadays the Hotel is equipped in line with modern trends of the world hotel management.

Celebrities

Since the opening in 1908, the Hotel Moscow have visited over 36 million people and stayed over night around 4 million guests.

Among them there was Albert Einstein a physicist, Alfred Hitchcock a famous film director,  Maxim Gorky a  writer, Richard Nixon the American President, Mahatma Gandhi an Indian revolutionist, Luciano Pavarotti an opera singer, as well as Hollywood actors such as Jack Nicholson, Robert de Nero, Bred Pit, Mila Jovović, Kirk Douglas, Michael Douglas and many others.

Jack Nicholson, the actor, was a guest of the Hotel during the Film festival in the 80s in the 20th century, saying that Serbian films were more complex than the Hollywood ones.  Alfred Hitchcock was fascinated by the look of the Hotel. Albert Einstein, the physicist stayed over a few nights, and he was a regular guest with his wife Mileva of the summer open air café of the Hotel Moscow. People loved him, and all those who were sitting with him called him "Mister crazy scientist" - which made him laugh.

There are lots of other famous names in related to the Hotel, such as the French marshal Frans De Pere, Rebecca Vest a writer, Rabindranath  Tagore  a writer, as well as famous film directors Roman Polanski, Bernardo Bertolucci, Milos Forman..
