Budapest Déli Railway Station is at the Buda site, just a few hundred meters away from the castle district. The modern building was finished in 1975 but the first railway station was opened at the same spot in 1873. Déli Pályaudvar serves most of the Transdanubian region, including the No. 1. touristic destination in Hungary, Lake Balaton.
