The Comedy Theatre of Budapest, Vigszinhaz, is located in a beautiful building, constructed at the end of the 19th century, in between the Nyugati-Western Railway Station and Margaret Island, not far from the Pest side of Margaret Bridge. The theatre's performances always drew many visitors, giving birth to the modern Hungarian theatre stage. Classical as well as contemporary plays are played, along with elegant French comedies and modern drama.
Pesti Theatre also belongs to the Comedy Theatre, and a third location of the company is called Hazi Szinpad - the in-house stage. The Comedy Theatre can be reached on tramline 4-6 by public transportation, and the Pesti Theatre by walk from the Ferenciek tere station of M3.
