King Matthias Hunyadi, the greatest Hungarian ruler of the Renaissance period (1440-1490) got hungry on one of his early evening walks around Buda castle. So he entered into the Hunyadi restaurant. There he was taken aback by two things. First, how different and at the same time how interesting the minimalist design of the third millennium could be comparing to the Rennaissance splendour of the castle. Second, today's exciting gastronomy. He couldn't help but wonder at the abundance of the tasty dishes and delicious wines.

After this, whenever he got hungry, he came in to our restaurant. When he wished to share his lunch or supper with a small party, whether with his beloved or with his court, he used our small hall, where there was room for even as many as ten people. If he wished to hold a royal banquet, the celebrating fourty people were seated in the large hall.

Small hall: 10 seats
Large hall: 40 seats

Our king visited us on several other special occassions as well:
- on more intimate family feasts (birthdays, weddings, christenings...)
- when briefing the codex copiers (company meetings, suppers),
- whenever he wanted to inform his people on the state affairs, he held a press conference
- whenever he wanted to bring the members of his court closer together, the members layed the table and cooked their dinner themselves, thus strengthening their unity (special team building training using the facilities of the kitchen beginning with the laying of the table and ending with the cooking of their own dishes...)
- on special occasions he held wine dinners, wine tastings guided by his wine-growers to spread the word about the noble wines and splendid food of his country.

Hunyadi Restaurant - for today's rennaissance people!
