The modern technology in the Palacio de Deportes and the different hall sizes allow having several events simultaneously. The different configurations of its retractable grandstands- one of them with a capacity of 2700 people and at present the largest in the world- , allow the capacity to match the needs of each event in a short period of time.

With everyone's effort we have changed this Palacio de Deportes of the Comunidad de Madrid into a multipurpose space the most versatile in Spain and one of the firsts in Europe.

Sport events

Since the Palacio's opening, the new building became a reference place not only in sports but also in other types of shows. Basketball, athletics, gymnastics, boxing and cycling, without forgetting handball, they have been the best welcomed sports in the history of the Palacio.

Events other than sports

Already on 17th April, 1960, two months after the opening of the Palacio, the first show on ice was celebrated, and that has been a constant in the Palacio ever since. In the show "Holiday On Ice" the "Swarms Lake" was performed by Tchaikowsky (May 6th, 1961) and "Sherezade" by Rimsky Korsakov (June 23rd, 1966).
